You'll need to register for the test. After you register, you can start the test right away or within 72 hours using the test link emailed to you.

  • You have 45 minutes to complete the knowledge test. You must complete the test in a single session - you cannot leave or pause the test.
  • You'll need the following to take the knowledge test online:
    • A webcam that stays on during the entire test - the webcam must be connected to the same screen or monitor as your test
    • A stable internet connection
    • A piece of accepted primary ID
    • A credit card for the $15 test fee. You can pay by Visa, MasterCard and American Express

Don’t forget: after you pass the knowledge test, you are not licenced to drive until you visit an ICBC driver licencing office and are issued a licence.
